On Tuesday, June 5, the ASSP Foundation inaugurated its first 5K at Safety 2018 in San Antonio. In a 102-degree heat, 102 brave souls showed their determination and grit by making this event a huge success. Thank you to all who registered and participated in helping the Foundation continue its mission of supporting education, leadership development and research. The Foundation also thanks its generous donors for making this event possible: WorkCare, AECOM, Restore Rehabilitation, Rockford Systems and ESIS. All of your support is invaluable!
Proceeds from these events support the ASSP Foundation’s efforts to support college students pursuing a career in safety, health and environmental professions, as well as provide support for families who have lost loved a one in a workplace incident. Additionally, the ASSP Foundation supports industry research projects like the one led by Lora Cavuoto at the University of Buffalo, who is studying how to manage fatigue and combat ergonomic injuries that may result from repeated tasks.
More than 100 golfers took on the historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course at Safety 2018 in San Antonio during the the 12th Annual ASSP Foundation Golf Outing. Between bogeys, pars and mulligans, the group shared laughs and tall tales as they helped support the Foundation's mission. We thank our golfers and all our sponsors for such a successful event!
