About the Program

The role of a safety professional is heavily based on science, technical knowledge, and a diverse set of skills. Colleges and universities often seek accreditation by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) to ensure the quality and professional rigor of their programs. Students who graduate from accredited programs have access to enhanced opportunities in employment; licensure, registration and certification; graduate education; and global mobility. The ASSE Foundation helps universities and colleges seeking ABET accreditation of OSH programs through the James A. Oppold Fund by providing funding for the accreditation process in order to advance the OSH profession.

How to Apply

College and university programs must submit a one- or two-page funding request to the Foundation by June 16. Download the application information packet to learn more about the contents of the proposal.
