You are changing lives with your donations. At the ASSP Foundation, we speak a lot in numbers. But let Misha Griffis, a 2018 Liberty Mutual scholarship recipient, tell you what the award meant to her. To help students like Misha, please donate.

About the Program

Congratulations to the 2019 Awardees!

Since 1990, the ASSP Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and professional education grants to students beginning their studies in occupational safety and professionals seeking to continue their education. We offer nearly 150 awards each year ranging from $500 to $15,000 each. More than 1,300 safety students and professionals have advanced their careers, thanks to the generosity of the safety community.

You can create your own named scholarship or grant to provide support to students and professionals in the safety community. We offer two funding options to cater to your personal financial goals and will work with you to develop an award that will be greatly appreciated by members of the safety community.

About the Program

The role of a safety professional is heavily based on science, technical knowledge, and a diverse set of skills. Colleges and universities often seek accreditation by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) to ensure the quality and professional rigor of their programs. Students who graduate from accredited programs have access to enhanced opportunities in employment; licensure, registration and certification; graduate education; and global mobility. The ASSE Foundation helps universities and colleges seeking ABET accreditation of OSH programs through the James A. Oppold Fund by providing funding for the accreditation process in order to advance the OSH profession.

How to Apply

College and university programs must submit a one- or two-page funding request to the Foundation by May 1. Download the application information packet to learn more about the contents of the proposal.

Apply for an ABET Accreditation Grant

To learn more about the ABET accreditation process visit the ABET website. For questions on grants, contact the Foundation at asspfoundation@assp.org or +1 847 699.2929.
