You don't have to be a safety expert to have something important to say. Maybe you've spotted a workplace hazard, learned a valuable safety lesson or have a creative way to get people thinking. Now is your chance to turn that idea into a short video that could make a difference.
The Virginia Department of Labor & Industry's (DOLI) Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) program invites Virginia high school students and early-career workers to get creative, enter individually or as a team and compete for cash prizes of up to $3,000.
Everyone deserves to feel confident spotting hazards, asking questions and speaking up for a safer workplace. A message from someone who has been there or is just getting started can make people stop, think and act. That is why we want to hear from you.
What would you tell someone starting a new job? Maybe it is how to recognize a hazard, prevent a fall, stay safe in the heat, use equipment safely or speak up when something does not look right. Pick a workplace safety or health topic you care about and make a video that gets the message across.
Make it original, keep it under two minutes and give viewers one clear action they can take. Maximum video file size: 2 GB
Choose the division that fits you. First-, second- and third-place awards are available in each division.
